Ursula von der Leyen celebrated Budapest Pride on X, writing: "The streets of Budapest are filled with joy and pride... I am so glad that the LGBTIQ+ community in Hungary can finally march without fear." One user pushed back, replying: "There was no fear even under Orbán. What are you talking about? They were safer here in Hungary than in your country. I'm tired of your nonsense about Orbán's Hungary. He was right about almost everything."

Cardinal Burke Sees "No State of Emergency": Ordaining bishops without a papal mandate will have to be punished, Cardinal Raymond Burke told PerMariam.com. He hopes Leo XIV will appoint cardinals to continue talks with the FSSPX, saying reconciliation remains possible. Cardinal Burke, a canon lawyer, rejected rumours that all FSSPX members could be declared excommunicated: "I don’t think that can be sustained". Furthermore, he dismissed the FSSPX's claim of a "state of emergency" to justify episcopal consecrations. While acknowledging serious difficulties in the Church, he insisted that Catholics must remain faithful within the Church: "No situation justifies doing something that is intrinsically evil."
VATICAN CITY (PerMariam) — Cardinal Raymond Burke has given his assessment of the recent Extraordinary Consistory along with the upcoming episcopal consecrations of the Society of Saint Pius X, noting some remaining concerns about the consistory format, while lamenting the planed consecrations. Speaking with Per Mariam following the recent consistory, Cdl. Burke offered a summary of the event which drew just under 180 cardinals to Rome for the second such meeting of Leo XIV’s pontificate. As many have similarly done, Burke welcomed the return of consistory’s to the Vatican’s regular life, since it offers a chance to “discuss important questions with regard to the Church.” But he also raised his concerns about the small table “synodal” group method which has largely replaced the traditional open discussion. As for synodality itself, on which the cardinals were briefed during Saturday’s meeting, the American prelate said that it “remains unresolved.” “There really needs to be a …
Eva Vlaardingerbroek Eva Vlaardingerbroek on X Campaigners behind the ‘Save Europe Act’ say the European Commission is preparing to reject their European Citizens’ Initiative after receiving a letter warning that its proposals appear to violate the European Union’s fundamental rights and values. In a video published on Tuesday, June 30th, the initiators of the act—Dutch conservative commentator Eva Vlaardingerbroek and Austrian identitarian activist Martin Sellner—said they had received a letter from the European Commission, warning them that the Save Europe Act appears to be “manifestly contrary” to the Charter of Fundamental Rights and the EU’s “values.” The Commission also stated that the initiative’s proposed moratorium on “non-Western” immigration and its stated objective of protecting the “ethnic and cultural continuity” of Europe’s native peoples would amount to discrimination on the grounds of race or ethnic origin. According to Eva Vlaardingerbroek, the letter is “the …
Almost as if the goal is to destroy Europe as well as destroying those countries from which the migrants are escaping....after all the big corporations can then steal all the minerals in those countries without any opposition from the native population ...good plan!
Burning Crosses at a Polish Festival: On 26 June, during the Bangarang heavy metal festival in Chwałkowo, Poland, a stage performance included the burning of wooden crosses. A firefighter stood by for fire safety. Local politicians and officials condemned the act as blasphemous and disrespectful of religious feeling.

A firefighter stood by for fire safety. Local politicians and officials condemned the act as blasphemous and disrespectful of religious feeling. And yet it was still allowed. Even with a firefighter to make sure it doesn't get out of control. Their only real concern. A lot of people get away with this sort of thing in Poland like Blaspheming against Catholics and GOD. Very few are even fined. Then below we have this mess in Poland. No wonder they don't stop burning of crosses and filthy plays. You will never see this in Russia! It's a crime, and a serious crime to attack any religion in Russia. They won't pretend to be outraged. THEY WILL BE! And off to jail you go! Freedom of religion is one thing they take very seriously. They got caught in their own laws trying to ban freemasons. But working on how to change it without hurting others. That will be one huge challenge they have on their hands. Thankfully there isn't many at all. About 1.000 +. This is why many hate Russia. She destroys …Bebree
Every 29 June, within St Peter’s Basilica, one of the most striking Catholic traditions returns. The vesting of the statue of Saint Peter, including the cope and the tiara.
Cardinal Raymond Burke criticized at the consistory the pro-homosexual Final Report of the Synod’s Study Group No. 9. AdVaticanum.com reports (June 29) that he focused on its call to privilege the "experiences" of homosexuals. Cardinal Burke described the report as manifesting “the very grave difficulty with the current direction and functioning of the Synod” and stressed that it carries weight as official synodal material. He added that, by invoking a “paradigm shift,” the report takes a path divergent from the Church’s perennial moral teaching on the homosexual condition and corresponding acts. Furthermore, the Cardinal defended the Courage apostolate supporting chastity. He criticized the report for slandering such efforts and validating agendas “in open opposition to the traditional moral doctrine of the Church.” He concluded by invoking St John Paul II’s Veritatis Splendor in defence of immutable moral norms. #newsNxgddvhpmu
Book of Amos 3,1-8.4,11-12. Hear this word, O children of Israel, that the LORD pronounces over you, over the whole family that I brought up from the land of Egypt: You alone have I favored, more than all the families of the earth; Therefore I will punish you for all your crimes. Do two walk together unless they have agreed? Does a lion roar in the forest when it has no prey? Does a young lion cry out from its den unless it has seized something? Is a bird brought to earth by a snare when there is no lure for it? Does a snare spring up from the ground without catching anything? If the trumpet sounds in a city, will the people not be frightened? If evil befalls a city, has not the LORD caused it? Indeed, the Lord GOD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants, the prophets. The lion roars-- who will not be afraid! The Lord GOD speaks-- who will not prophesy! I brought upon you such upheaval as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah: you were like a brand plucked from the fire …Bebree
The State of Affairs at L'Osservatore Romano: During today's Angelus, Pope Leo XIV greeted homeless people present in St Peter's Square who were distributing L'Osservatore di strada, a supplement of L'Osservatore Romano. According to Silere non possum, Andrea Monda, editor-in-chief of L'Osservatore Romano, requested that a greeting to the distributors be included in the Pope's prepared text. Monda attended the Angelus in St Peter's Square. SilereNonPossum.com adds that Monda does not usually go to the office even on days when he is expected to be there, that public interest in L'Osservatore di strada is "non-existent," and that Monda is personally responsible for the costly project out of an "obsession."
Angelus: Pope Leo Reads, Andrea Monda Gets the … Among the greetings drafted by the Prefecture of the Papal Household for the Pope was one addressed to the homeless people present in St Peter’s Square to distribute L’Osservatore di strada, a supplement to L’Osservatore Romano. Naturally, the request came from Andrea Monda himself. A man who does not usually go to the office even on the days when he is expected to be there was hardly likely to spend a Sunday in St Peter’s Square beneath the scorching Roman sun of recent days. But having secured confirmation from the Prefecture that the short passage had been inserted into the text prepared for the Pope, Monda could not miss the occasion. He had to be there, he had to be seen, he had to make his presence visible at the very moment Leo XIV spoke about the costly paper. And so there he was in St Peter’s Square, beside a banner that had cost hundreds of euros, waving his arms about in his embarrassing braces to greet the Pope, who, puzzled …Bebree
The Superior General of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X, Don Davide Pagliarani, has replied to Leo XIV, asking him to take more time before making any decision concerning the FSSPX. "One day, all the difficulties between the Holy See and the Society will be resolved." The letter. The Superior General To His Holiness Pope Leo XIV Ecône, 30 June 2026 Most Holy Father, Thank you very much for the letter that Your Holiness so kindly addressed to me. I have been deeply touched by Your paternal solicitude. For a long time, I had hoped to have the opportunity of meeting You in person, in order to express to You directly our sincere desire to serve the Church. Unfortunately, that opportunity has not presented itself. I ask only that You consider the sincerity of this intention, which is in no way feigned. Paradoxically, in the present circumstances, we believe it to be our very duty to do everything possible to mend Christ's seamless garment, torn by forces and pressures incompatible …Bebree
@brhenry You have reached for a very strained reading of the SSPX response. Something along the order of what we would expect from bomb throwers. A common sense reading (which is clearly what was intended) would be "Don't act impulsively." The SSPX has never given even the slightest hint that they have ever been looking for a "compromise."
"Kicking the can down the road" has been the problem from the beginning with all disciplinary issues in the Church, including the 1962 Missal sectarian problem. Essentially, the SSPX wants the Vatican to take a modernist "inclusive, all are welcome" approach. Hopefully the Holy Father demands repentance and full reconciliation for years of schism.
Mgr Fellay reports this highly revealing anecdote about the mindset of the Roman authorities. When the FSSPX tells them that it wants to work to bring souls and societies back to God, these same authorities say to it, "Good luck!" They no longer believe in it!
Vatikán reagoval na myšlienku katolíckeho štátu slovami „veľa šťastia“: Dnes biskup Bernard Fellay z FSSPX vysvätil v Écône päť kňazov a troch diakonov. Vo svojej homílii spomenul „malý incident“, ktorého svedkami boli všetky vedúce osobnosti Kongregácie pre náuku viery, vrátane prefekta, sekretára a podsekretára. FSSPX uviedla, že chce získať pre Krista nielen jednotlivcov, ale aj spoločnosti. Údajná odpoveď Kongregácie: „Veľa šťastia.“ Monsignor Fellay k tomu poznamenal: „Už tomu neveria.“
The Venerable Matthew Talbot Matthew Talbot, TOSF (2 May 1856 – 7 June 1925) was an Irishascetic revered by many Catholics for his piety, charity and mortification of the flesh. The Holiness Jesus Actually Demands Today The gospel reading emphasizes the need for holiness that surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees and rejects the notion of universal salvation. The importance of living out the teachings of scripture is emphasized, particularly regarding anger, forgiveness, and treating others with compassion, mercy, and humility. St. Peter’s letter to persecuted Christians underscores the call to bless those who abuse us, inheriting a blessing in return, and stresses the importance of prayer to achieve this supernatural holiness. St. Peter reminds us that true holiness requires more than just outward appearances; it demands a genuine transformation of the heart. We are called to turn away from evil, seek peace, and live out the teachings of Christ, even if it means suffering for righteousness. This requires a deep belief in scripture, not just in our heads, but in our hearts, leading us to be the light and leaven in our society. Fr. Altier is a Priest at …Bebree
