"We Made Liturgy a Place of Battle" - Cardinal Sarah

The Church is “nothing without God” and exists to save souls and nourish them through the sacraments, Cardinal Robert Sarah, 80, told CNews on March 27.
When speaking about the Church’s problems, Sarah avoids naming individuals. Throughout the interview, he uses only broad categories - "we," "people," - and shifts the blame onto modern culture and ideas such as relativism, rupture, and innovation.
His consistent rhetorical strategy is to use passive and "we".
The Church: Not an NGO
His basic argument is that the Church cannot be reduced to a humanitarian, political, or sociological institution: "God must truly be placed at the center of our existence, at the center of our life, at the center of our concerns."
And: "If we detach the Church from this mission… the Church is useless."
Liturgy as Battlefield
Cardinal Sarah mentions Leo XIV only briefly and in an almost deferential way when describing the liturgical crisis.
"I understand that the Pope is concerned about this liturgical unity …Okuninzi

I fear the great Cardinal and Prince of the Church is slipping into compromise. For what gain and reason I cannot yet tell.

Trump’s Signature to Be Added to U.S. Dollars, a First for a Sitting President

President Trump’s signature will appear on U.S. dollars later this year, the Treasury Department said on Thursday. The decision to have Mr. Trump’s John Hancock on America’s paper currency represented an unprecedented change, one that the department said was being made in honor of the United States’ 250th anniversary.
Mr. Trump is set to become the first sitting U.S. president to have his signature on the greenback. His name will appear alongside that of Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. As a result, the U.S. treasurer, whose name has been on the currency for more than a century, will not appear on the currency.
“There is no more powerful way to recognize the historic achievements of our great country and President Donald J. Trump than U.S. dollar bills bearing his name, and it is only appropriate that this historic currency be issued at the semiquincentennial,” Mr. Bessent said in a statement.
The addition of Mr. Trump’s signature to dollars is the latest example of the president …

Leo XIV Promotes Francis-Era Diplomats in Vatican Shake-Up

Pope Leo XIV has carried out a reshuffle at the Roman Curia, confirming weeks of leaks and speculation in the Italian media.
He has reappointed careerists to different posts, but has once again failed to appoint a distinct Catholic.
At the centre of the changes is Archbishop Edgar Peña Parra, who is leaving his influential role as Substitute for General Affairs — effectively the 'No. 2' in the Secretariat of State. He has been accused of being homosexual. Leo XIV has appointed him as Apostolic Nuncio to Italy and San Marino.
This places him in one of the Holy See's most sensitive diplomatic roles, given the unique relationship between Italy and the Vatican.
Monsignor Paolo Rudelli succeeded him as Sostituto. He was the Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe from 2014 to 2019 and most recently served as Nuncio to Colombia.
His appointment also signals continuity in diplomatic appointments at the heart of Vatican governance.
Furthermore, Archbishop Petar Rajić, until now the …Okuninzi

Cuba has one of the highest abortion rates in the world, so don’t be taken in if this is how they’re trying to manipulate emotions. There has to be a lot of martyrs for things to change there. They’ll use anything to make Americans look bad and blame the US embargo for everything. The government is a totally evil entity. They’re all oppressive liars and thieves in that government without caring one bit about the people. Yes, it’s sad that people are dying but nothing will change there until the Marxist elitist regime is totally blown off the island. I know. I’m a Cuban and I am a Traditional Catholic.

It always takes Russia to go in and help others. Even their enemies if they ask. Even the US who has helped Ukraine bomb inside Russia. Now Putin has ordered an envoy to America to try and help trump get out of this mess and seek dialogue and peace. But it's trump who refused to help Russia make peace with Ukraine. Pretending he wanted to help. Yet still helping Ukraine with INTEL and weapons etc. Finally admitting he was!
If certain countries refuse to get along with Russia, don't let anyone brainwash you that Russia is part of the deep state. They are not good at twisting the truth for those who know the truth already. Watch them closely. They repeat the same things over and over again. What do they say about that? Repeat it enough times and the people will believe it. But they can't win with people with strong minds who have common sense. Watch for that sort of person and get far away from them.

Global Food Supply Faces a Dangerous Bottleneck as Iran War Persists
Fertilizer prices are climbing as a result of disruptions in the Middle East, putting global food supplies at risk.
nytimes.com/…iness/economy/fertilizer-food- …
One of the biggest economic casualties of the U.S.-led war in Iran has been the global fertilizer supply.
Shipments of it have piled up on the wrong side of the Strait of Hormuz. In India, Algeria and Slovakia, fertilizer plants have shut down or slowed their output because of rising natural gas prices. China has restricted fertilizer exports. Australian wheat farmers are planting less, and corn and soy farmers in the United States are begging President Trump for relief.
Much of the concern about economic disruptions stemming from the Iran conflict has centered on the higher price of oil and natural gas. But the cascading effects of the conflict on fertilizer supplies are growing worse by the day, raising prices for farmers globally and threatening to …Okuninzi

Where compassion meets utilitarianism: tragic euthanasia case - Pax Orbis

Last week’s death of a young Spanish woman by euthanasia shocked the world. Although her father fought for eighteen months to have to procedure stopped, he was overruled by the Spanish courts.
At the eleventh hour, Noelia’s best friend – someone who may have been able to talk Noelia out of going ahead with her death – was denied access. When there was question of yet another legal intervention, authorities stated that was not possible: Noelia’s organs had been targeted for harvesting, earning millions for their sale.
This case speaks to a cascade of tragedies which ended in a young woman being failed at every turn, and paying the ultimate price to a society which unashamedly exploits the vulnerable.

Noelia Castillo Ramos was a 25-year-old woman from Barcelona, Spain, who will end her life through euthanasia on 26 March, after a long legal battle. Her controversial case has attracted widespread media attention in Spain.

Leo XIV Unlikely to Overturn 'Traditionis Custodes' – U.S. Bishop

Bishop Michael Martin of Charlotte, North Carolina, has defended his decisions to restrict the celebration of the Traditional Latin Mass to only one location and to prohibit the use any tools for kneeling at Communion.
In an interview with AmericaMagazine.org on 26 March, he began with a thinly veiled dismissal of Catholics attached to the Roman rite: "I don't want to say that they're some sort of lunatic fringe. They're not. These are people who feel strongly about the liturgy, and there's goodness and holiness in that."
Leo XIV Would Not Change what Francis Has Done
Monsignor Martin referred to his responsibility as a bishop to maintain fidelity to the Church’s "norms". He framed his cruel decisions, especially those relating to the Traditional Latin Mass, as an act of obedience: "All I did was implement Traditionis Custodes in the Diocese of Charlotte."
The bishop rejected the idea of extending the existing Masses indefinitely without a clear pastoral plan to end them: "If we need …Okuninzi

Finland’s Supreme Court Convicts Päivi Räsänen for "Hate Speech" against Homosexuals

Finnish Lutheran politician Päivi Räsänen has been convicted of 'hate speech' for writing a 2004 pamphlet in which she set out the biblical view of homosexuality.
The conviction falls under the 'war crimes and crimes against humanity' section of Finland's criminal code.
Räsänen and Lutheran Lay-Bishop Juhana Markus Pohjola were convicted in a 3–2 split decision.
According to AdfInternational.org, the court acknowledged that the content did not incite violence. In fact, it went so far as to say that the conduct in question was “not particularly serious”.
However, the Supreme Court found them guilty of “making available to the public and keeping available to the public opinions that insult homosexuals as a group on the basis of their sexual orientation”.
The court imposed fines totalling several thousand euros and ruled that the statements in question must be “removed from public access and destroyed”.
However, the court acquitted her over a 2019 tweet quoting a Bible verse.

It’s natural to assume Finnish laws won’t affect Americans. But under the EU’s Digital Services Act, social media platforms must abide by the “hate speech” standards of any EU member state—meaning the most censorial states set the standard. Not just for Europe, but worldwide.

That poor man. I watched a video of him talking about the situation and I don't remember one word he said. He looked older and worn out. It's really getting to him because he just can't get anyone to listen to what they (The US) are ready to unleash on the world. He sent an envoy to the US to try and help them to find a way out and stop the insanity. To use dialogue instead of bombs. But as usual, trump doesn't care to stop anything. And hegseth is just bloodthirsty and keeps pushing for more death. Not only in other countries but our own. Sending 50,000 soldiers to their death. I just posted Larry Johnson explaining how it's impossible.

Multiple governments - including the USA, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Lebanon, and Poland, - condemned Israeli police for blocking a private prayer by Cardinal Pizzaballa at the church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem today. In response, Israeli officials say they are working on a plan to allow church leaders to worship at the holy site in the coming days. Cardinal Pizzaballa told TV2000 that there were no clashes: "Everything was done in a very polite manner. I do not want to force the issue. We want to use this situation to try to clarify better in the coming days what to do, in respect for everyone's safety but also in respect for the right to prayer."

Cardinal Pizzaballa: “It is true that the police had said that the orders from the internal command prevented any kind of gathering in places where there is no shelter, but we had not asked for anything public, just a brief and small private ceremony to preserve the idea of the celebration in the Holy Sepulchre. There were no clashes; everything was done in a very polite manner. I do not want to force the issue; we want to use this situation to try to clarify better in the coming days what to do, in respect for everyone's safety but also in respect for the right to prayer."
